1. Do I need a visa?
All visitors to Armenia, with the exception of nations from the CIS, must hold a valid passport and entry visa. Fees for visas range from US$ 30- US$ 70 depending on the category.

2. What about driving license requirements?
Though foreign licenses are usually honored at car rental agencies and by the government, you should obtain an international permit (a supplementary document obtainable from automobile clubs) if your license is not issued by an EU nation.

3. Can I have a self drive in Armenia or should I hire a driver?
You can have a self drive in Armenia using car rental services (Hertz Rent-a-Car). You can also have a driver service (with foreign language speaking driver).



1. What are the banking hours in Armenia?
Mon-Fri 9:00-15:00. Exchange offices are open until midnight and also operate at weekends and on public holidays.

2. Can I use my credit cards?
Major credit cards can be used in Armenia. However, please be aware that there are smaller shops and restaurants that may not take credit cards.



What kinds of accommodations are there in Armenia?

You will find a variety of accommodation styles to suit all tastes and budgets in Armenia. I am visiting Armenia for the first time. Where should I go?

Yerevan is the capital of Armenia. Old town enriched by the many museums and parks, it is the very place where a visit through Armenia can be started from. Echmiadzin the center of the Armenian Church, the ruins of Zvartnots Temple, the Hellenistic temple of Garni and the Monastery of Geghard are not too far away from the city and can be visited in one day time.


What museums and galleries to visit?

You can visit The Matenadaran (manuscripts library) a world-class Armenia's state repository of ancient manuscripts, inluding illuminated manuscripts. Among the most visited ones are Genocide Memorial Museum at Tsitsernakaberd, the National Gallery of Armenia, Parajanov Museum, Cafesjian Museum of Contemporary Art, etc. All museums are closed on Mondays

Where are golf courts?

Though golf is a new sport in Armenia the interest is increasing amongst the Armenian people, the expatriates and the visitors alike. Ararat Valley Golf and Country Club is Armenia’s first golf court. It’s only a 9-holer but it’s the only real golf to be played in the Caucasus region.



Will communication be difficult?

Armenian people are very friendly and hospitable. Many people speak English, and enough of the folks in airports, hotels and restaurants understand it well enough to make basic transactions go smoothly.

What's the weather like in Armenia?

The climate in Armenia is markedly continental. Summers are dry and sunny, lasting from June to mid-September. The temperature fluctuates between 22° and 36°C. However, the low humidity level mitigates the effect of high temperatures.


Which are Armenian national dishes?

Almost in all restaurants you can order national dishes like Harissa, Kiufta, Manti,etc.
Which are Armenian drinks?
Armenian brandies are exceptional. Kotayk and Kilikia are Armenian beers worth tasting.
Armenian wine is well worth tasting: Areni region wine is particularly known.


Night life in Armenia?

There are restaurants and nightclubs featuring local music in Yerevan. There are several clubs and discos like “Kami” Club, “That Place” offers no less than nightclubs in Las Vegas There are several casinos.
